Rationale
Units are to be allocated to staff in a way that meets the needs of the school and the Strategic Plan.
Procedures
One unit will be permanently allocated to each of the Deputy Principal and Assistant Principal positions.
One unit will be permanently allocated to the Special Needs co-ordinator.
The remaining units will be allocated on a year to year basis and will be available to teaching staff undertaking extra responsibilities.
To obtain the extra salary from a
unit, staff will need to specifically state what extra tasks they will
undertake for the period of time they have the unit as discussed during
appraisal process.
The Principal, Deputy Principal and
Assistant Principal will make the final decision on the allocation of
the units. At their discretion units can be allocated differently to the
above guidelines to the maximum benefit of Plateau school and staff,
e.g. allocate in sub-units such as half a unit allocation to two
teachers for a year |
