Rationale
To
ensure that parents are given a clear picture, in plain language, of their
child’s achievement progress and effort across all curriculum areas in line
with National Standards Reporting.
Purpose
1. To provide
opportunities for communication between parents and teachers.
2. To inform by oral and
written reports the academic, social and physical progress of students.
Guidelines
1. At the end of terms 2 and
4, parents will receive a formal written report on their child’s progress and
achievement.
2. During term 1, there will
be an opportunity for parents to meet with their child’s teacher for an
exchange of information and setting goals.
3. Early in Term 3, there
will be an opportunity for parents to meet with their child’s teacher to
discuss the written report and reset goals.
4. Parents will be informed of student achievement / successes in
the school through the weekly school newsletter, by displays of student work
and by special evenings or celebrations.
5. Parents are encouraged to discuss any concerns about their
child’s progress with the class teacher at any time.
6. Teachers are encouraged to discuss any major concerns about a
child with the Principal prior to discussing the issue with the parents.
