Rationale
Writing is a form of communication.
Handwriting is a means by which writing is easily understood, making
this form of communication successful.
Purpose
To give our students the skills they
need in order to be able to write legibly, accurately, without strain
and with sufficient speed for practical purposes.
Assessment
Sensitive and informed observation of
each student at work is the most useful way for the teacher to evaluate
handwriting, e.g. moving around the classroom watching the students as
they write and helping them when required.
All students should be encouraged to evaluate their own handwriting from the earliest stages.
Conclusion
Competence in handwriting will help the successful communication through presenting, especially in writing. |
